Gwamba WWE Album Launch Concept
by Ghetto Tunes

Any Jim and Jack who had something to say about Gwamba 'True Independence" album launch has said and exhausted everything on both traditional and social media. However, one thing that hasnt been appreciated and discussed in length is how well he scripted and choreographed the show.

Prior to "True Independence" launch on 23 July, Gwamba was seen walking around or performing at shows with a WWE Championship belt on his shoulder. Nobody knew he was setting up Blantyre for a Spear, RKO, Tombstone, Stunner, F5 or Jack Hammer.

From an aerial view of the stage, one would be tempted to think Gwamba had adopted the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) Hell in a Cell or cage match concept.

Either he won Blantyre hearts on 1, 2, 3 count out, tap out or submission, Gwamba who dressed like a member of "The Shield", walked out as a WWE Champion at Blantyre Golf Club. Truth be told, it was well patronized and conceptualized show not just in album music but in Malawis arts and entertainment industry.

Despite the negativity flying around on social media, Gwamba deserves his flowers for pulling off a historic and glamorous event.

By and large, "True Independence" is not just an album cementing Gwamba catalogue and legacy in music industry. It is an album whose sales will benefit the underprivileged.

According to Gwamba, all the proceeds from 50 CDs sales would be delivered to Pashello Charitable Trust in Chikwawa, where Mrs Malola takes care of orphans and the less privileged.

He had put the album on sale at any amount but the minimum buying price was 30,000 Kwacha, Last time I checked, he had made more than K2 million in his fundraiser.

In his "True Independence" album fundraising drive, Gwamba had been posting each and everyone who purchased the album for transparency purposes.

Released on 6 July, 2022, "True Independence" body of work contains 14 tracks. Some of the guest features include Lolli Native, Daniel Nabbi, Nthodwa, Kell Kay, Kelvin Sings, Nimix, Sage Poet, Charisma, Quest, Soul Acapella, Toriah, Henwood and Emm Q.
