Mystery over Blackacid future with GBA after Solo project drops
by Charles Magwira

One of the members of Ghetto Badman Alliance (GBA) music group popularly known with stage name Bada Bada Gangstar 'Blakacid', has gone solo on his recent released project named BadaTape Tha Mix.

The project, a 10 tracks mixtape has been released under Wave Records production in June 2021, and has featured artists including; Blackafella, Cabonerwella, Rabbit, Coskid and J-Cuzee aka Hipapu.

The move played by the dancehall icon has raised different views and concerns by GBA fans on social media, about the future of the crew as some say that Blackacid who is also one of the founding artist of the group has eventually left.

This usually happens in the music game, when a member of a group decided to go solo on big projects like Mixtape, Ep and Album or even hit singles. Most times this may lead to groups disbandment.

We have seen crews like hip hop godfathers, the NWA ending in a dramatic way after Ice Cube went solo, Dr Dre ultimately focused on production of which he introduced a motormouth rapper to the world, Eminem.

Destiny's child went to dust as a group after one member, Beyonce, released a solo video, 'What's my name' which made Beyonce rose to fame. The likes Lauryn hill from the fuggies. Peter tosh from the wailers was chaotic. (u can add extra dancehall artists u know they went solo)

A couple of WU Tang artist like Ghostface Killer and Method Man become more successful and popular as solo artists. We rarely hear, "mabili, mabili" in recent Jay Jay Cee tunes, Eli njuchi started the hive band and Chizmo pursing solo projects has left Njuchi music lovers surprised.

However, Bada Bada Gangster having featured a GBA artist CabonerWella in his BadaTape, has slightly left other fans believing he is still royal to GBA.

Right now the mixtape is already trending on social media and you can also get your tape on www.ghettotunes.com.
